Mental health and well being is being explored more frequently in this generation and people are becoming more aware of its acute issues.
With that said, the men of colour’s psyche in anglo Australia isn't something that has been widely explored yet. Dramatised through the horror thrope, the film explores what it means to have a mental illness, coupled with the inferiority complex of being a coloured male in an interracial marriage.
