The Audition
Short Film · DOP
The Audition is a claustrophobic, psychological horror told in real time, unfolding entirely within a single audition room. The camera acts as both observer and participant. First the impartial eye of the casting process, and gradually, an invasive, oppressive force that mirrors the manipulation and breakdown of Mira’s psyche.
This is a one-take film, designed to feel like an unbroken descent from the banal mechanics of an industry ritual to something darker and ritualistic. The lack of cuts amplifies the tension: there is nowhere for Mira or the audience to escape.
